Climate Courses

Risk Sciences International provides courses on the use of weather, climate, and climate change information in risk assessment and risk-based decision making.RSI's growing set of climate risk-related courses is tailored to analysts and decision makers with climate sensitive portfolios (e.g., provincial/state government agencies, natural resource sectors, municipalities, and insurance companies).

Participants may range from practitioners who are scientifically literate but non-expert with respect to analyses of severe weather, climate, and climate change-related risks, to climate experts who wish to hone their knowledge or skills with respect to specific types of climate, climate change, or climate risk analysis.

Courses currently include:

  • accessing, interpreting, and using climate change information for decision-making;
  • climate change vulnerability and risk assessment for project environmental assessments; and
  • climate change vulnerability and risk assessment for mining environmental assessments.

RSI is also among the principle developers and delivery agents of courses comprising the Engineers Canada “Infrastructure Resiliency Practitioner” (IRP) Certification Program.
